Uhlmann Packaging Systems L.P.

Company founder Josef Uhlmann started with the production of precision dies for suppositories in 1948. He thus laid the foundation for the development of the company into a leading global partner in the specialized sector of pharmaceutical packaging. The course of this achievement was unquestionably influenced by his son Friedrich, who joined the company in 1963. He created a machine construction company of international repute out of his father’s craftsman’s business. After the death of Friedrich Uhlmann in 1994, his wife Hedwig Uhlmann continued the tradition of the family-owned company. Today, she is Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Uhlmann Group. Tobias Uhlmann has been an active member of the Supervisory Board since 1st January 2005 and is consistently promoting the course set by his parents – to maintain and strengthen market leadership through excellent quality and outstanding innovative strength. The development of modern pharmaceutical packaging technology began in Laupheim in 1963 with the construction of the world’s first thermoformer. Subsequently followed by:1973
the first modular thermoformer UPS 5000.1977the modular blister system UPS 1 – 4 for high-performance packaging.
