In 2005 we celebrated our 40th birthday. By academic standards, that is considered very young. Maybe our youth is also why the university is alive with enthusiasm, creativity and original ideas. With its 4,000 or so employees and 28,000 students, the university is active across a wide spectrum of fields.We are proud of Umeå University and aim to keep on working towards making it one of Scandinavia's best environments for study and research
