The PD2i Cardiac Analyzer (the “Analyzer”) is a noninvasive heart monitoring system that has the capability to accurately predict Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), which solves a central problem of cardiovascular disease diagnosis. The Analyzer is based on a series of patented algorithms which examine the relationship of nonlinear dynamics to heart rate variability.
The key to understanding what the Analyzer does and why it is superior to all other devices in predicting SCD is based on neuro-cardiac relationships defining the connection between the variation of the heartbeat intervals and the heart’s vulnerability to arrhythmogenesis. Vicor’s analytical approach to quantifying these neuro-cardiac relationships utilizes the relatively new field of nonlinear dynamics. As opposed to using an algorithm based on a linear stochastic model, such as the Standard Deviation, the Analyzer measures variability that is based on a nonlinear deterministic model.


The mission of the Vicor drug discovery platform is to focus on the pre-clinical and early clinical development of specific naturally occurring peptides and proteins derived from “state-dependent” physiologies that will revolutionize the treatment of an array of human diseases.
