Dr Wild & Co. Ltd was founded in 1932 by Dr Samuel Wild and Werner Wild as an independent and self-supporting company, which it still is. At the time, it was a great challenge to take up the development, manufacture and quality control of medicines. Until the end of the second World War, the main market was Switzerland.
In the 1940ies a whole range of dental care products was developed and manufactured thanks to a close and fruitful collaboration with dental universities and physicians. During this pioneering work, Dr Wild succeeded in adding therapeutically active ingredients to toothpastes, mouthwashes, gingival pastes and gels.
The first products to appear on the market were the EMOFORM medicated toothpastes, which are famous today in more than 50 countries worldwide. In the course of time, new products were developed like EMOFRESH, GINVAPAST and DEPURDENT. Dr Wild also took over from Roche Consumer Health the worldwide distribution of DEAFTOL mouthspray and tablets for the treatment of aphthae, inflammation of the oral mucosa and denture pressure spots.
