WorldCare

Established in 1992, WorldCare was structured as technology transfer (Telemedicine) initiative with clinical support from the Department of Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital.WorldCare was among the first companies to secure FDA clearance for wavelet compression (1994) the enabling technology that permits the digitization and electronic transmission of diagnostic quality medical imaging. The company went on to develop a full range of teleradiology solutions and constructed The WorldCare Global e-Health NetworkSM to support second opinion e-consultation for international patients and domestic pharmaceutical clinical trial services. In response to market demand, WorldCare developed a comprehensive, medical record based protocol for international second opinion e-consultation referred to as Patient Management Consultation ("PMC’) which includes verification of the primary diagnosis, a recommended treatment plan and follow-up. In 1993 and 1994 WorldCare Gulf and WorldCare Saudi Arabia were formed to launch Second Opinion operations in the Middle East.
