Xenome Ltd

Xenome Ltd. was established to mine the diverse therapeutic potential of Australia's terrestrial and marine biota, to create a deep pipeline of potential solutions for unmet chronic conditions including severe intractable pain, inflammation and cancer. As the world's largest island continent, Australia's long period of geological isolation has resulted in the development of unique animals, plants and ecosystems. The diversity of this biota is reflected in the vast array of peptide toxins Australian venomous animals have evolved for prey capture and defense.
Venom peptides are highly prospective for drug discovery and development due to their inherent selectivity, potency and diverse mechanisms of action over a broad range of pharmacological targets. In addition they are readily amenable to rational and systemic optimization chemistry. Xenome has built a discovery portal and development pipeline based on rare access to this extraordinary chemical diversity, its expert skill set and sophisticated facilities.
