Zygogen, LLC

Zygogen LLC is a privately owned, Atlanta-based biotechnology company founded in 1999 to develop proprietary zebrafish models of human disease for preclinical drug discovery. Zebrafish offer a powerful combination of low cost, high throughput analysis and complex vertebrate biology that can be observed in the living organism. A pioneer in applying zebrafish technology to drug discovery, Zygogen was the first company to establish such a partnership with a pharmaceutical company (Aventis Pharma 2002). Zygogen continues to collaborate with Sanofi-Aventis in the area of thrombosis. Zygogen has established discovery service collaborations with several other pharmaceutical companies to screen compounds for oncology and Parkinson’s disease as well as validate targets for multiple therapeutic areas.
