Dusa Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company engaged primarily in the development of photodynamic therapy ("PDT") and photodetection ("PD"), utilizing Levulan(R), the Company's brand of 5-amino-levulinic acid ("ALA"), for various medical indications. During 1998, the Company filed its first New Drug Application ("NDA") with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") for Levulan(R) PDT treatment of actinic keratoses. The Company is developing Levulan(R) PDT and PD under an exclusive worldwide license.
