GATC was founded in 1990 as Europe’s first commercial sequencing company. Today we are a leader in the field of molecular biological services for industry, research and science. The Genomic Research Services extend from the compilation of libraries via micro-arraying|gridding, picking|replicating, cloning, PCR-fragment analysis, genotyping, in vitro mutagenesis and two-hybrid screening.

We are very successfully represented in the most important genome projects of the European Union. In addition we are working in co-operation with Constance university on the large scale German human genome project. In addition, we sequenced and analyzed the complete genome of the brown algae virus Ectocarpus siliculosus, for MPI Jena.

GATC together with four other biotech companies has founded the Gene Alliance™, a Europe-wide leading provider of genomic services for the execution of particularly large industrial genome projects.
