IBEX Technologies Incorporated

IBEX Technologies is based in Montreal in a 20,000 square foot facility, comprising of small-scale fermentation facilities, general laboratories and offices.

IBEX has historically been focused on the development of therapeutic enzymes for cardiovascular diseases (principally Neutralase), and on enzymes directed at genetic diseases (principally Phenylase). IBEX also produces its enzymes for in vitro use as reagents for research use and, in the case of heparinase I, in several products used in hospitals and diagnostic clinics for the removal of heparin from blood samples.



On October 31, 2001, IBEX entered into an agreement with BioMarin Pharmaceuticals in which BioMarin purchased the therapeutic rights to the IBEX enzymes for a combination of cash, BioMarin stock and future payments based on the approval of Neutralase and Phenylase.



IBEX plans to in-license or acquire additional reagent technology and therapeutic intellectual property and will utilize its scientific, financial and physical resources to add value to the acquired intellectual property.
