Almedica Services Corporation

Almedica was founded in 1976 to address the need of the Pharmaceutical Industry to produce, manage and track investigational drugs. At the same time, patient populations used in clinical trials were randomized by a statistician and then forwarded to the clinical supplies group on a sheet of paper. Labels were offset printed with space left for a technician to manually record the patient number and visit. Producing labels in this fashion was prone to errors and time consuming. Almedica soon introduced ADLS, The Almedica Drug Labeling System, which computerized this process, cutting down not only the time needed to produce investigational labels, but also reducing the chance for human error.



Almedica's software client base grew quickly and clients began asking for assistance with packaging and labeling of their drugs. In response, Almedica Services Corp. was formed in 1984 creating the first facility in the pharmaceutical industry specifically designed for clinical contract packaging and labeling of drugs for clinical studies
