Integrin Advanced Biosystems

Integrin is the first marine biotechnology company in the UK.

Marine biotechnology is the discovery and application of products and processes derived from marine organisms and its central resource is the tremendous biodiversity of the oceans. This provides a large and relatively untapped biological resource that will be used to greatly enhance the scope of biotechnology. Scotland’s rich marine environment and well-developed biotechnology and aquaculture industries is a strong platform on which to build a highly successful marine biotech company.



Integrin works in two main areas:

Marine Drugs

Seafood Safety

These areas are supported by cell biology and biological chemistry research laboratories, based at the Marine Resource Centre near Oban.
