The Liposome Company Incorporated. is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development, manufacturing and marketing of proprietary lipid- and liposome-based pharmaceuticals, primarily for the treatment of cancer and other related life-threatening illnesses. The Company's marketed product and products in development are based on its knowledge and understanding of lipids, the substances that comprise the membrane of all living cells. The products developed by the Company with this technology include drug delivery vehicles and novel pharmaceuticals utilizing modulated cell signaling and bio-active lipids. To supplement and expand its internal discovery capabilities, the Company may in-license pharmaceutical compounds for further development, manufacturing and marketing.
