LorantisLorantis is discovering and developing breakthrough products for the selective treatment of immunological and inflammatory diseases based on immune regulation: the induction of antigen-specific tolerance.
Current therapies for immunological and inflammatory diseases either relieve only the symptoms or induce non-specific suppression of the immune system. This can lead to severe infection and drug-related toxicity. Lorantis is addressing unmet clinical needs in immunological diseases by developing selective treatments that target pathological responses, but don’t block normal responses or adversely affect non-immune organs. This selectivity is being achieved by:
New drugs for targets in the immune system with improved specificity for pathological responses.
Delivery mechanisms with improved selectivity for cells of the immune system.
Lorantis' lead products are derived from new biochemical signalling pathways that regulate specific actions of T-cells which control immune responses. These and other related discoveries will allow Lorantis to build a portfolio of novel drugs, which will treat the root causes of several immunological diseases, including allergy, asthma, autoimmune diseases and transplant regulation.
