Ångstrom Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was formed in 1996 to add a new dimension to drug discovery. It is committed to discovering drugs that block the docking of an extracellular regulatory protein (ligand) to its receptor found on the outside of a cell – when this event is responsible for initiating a disease state. Receptors can be identified that trigger several intractable diseases including cancer, the first focus of the Company's mission. Ångstrom targets a receptor for blockade only following a detailed analysis of that receptor’s role in the disease. The blocking drugs are designed such that they can easily reach their site of action and have minimal side effects.

Ångstrom has integrated the most advanced structure-based drug design, combinatorial science and state-of-the-art biology to create molecules that potently block the ligand-receptor docking interaction.
