Pharmaceutical Profiles uses sophisticated product visualization techniques to establish precisely where oral, pulmonary, nasal, rectal or vaginal technologies deliver drugs in healthy human volunteers and patients.
We offer the following services:
• Human drug absorption studies utilising the Enterion™ drug delivery capsule to establish a ‘route map’ for oral drug development • Gi-delivery studies to provide time lapse imaging of the drug delivery process for oral technologies • Scintigraphic evaluation of pulmonary and nasal delivery systems • gs3 pulmonary drug delivery studies to add a new dimension to inhaled product visualization studies • Biodistribution studies to establish the safety and effectiveness of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals in phase I/IIa • biovu studies to evaluate the delivery and disposition of radiolabelled products in patients
Background
Pharmaceutical Profiles was founded in 1990 as a spin-out company from the University of Nottingham and the Royal Free Hospital, London. The co-founders of the company included Professor S S (Bob) Davis, Dr Ian Wilding and Dr Stephen Newman, all still have close associations with the company.
Facilities
Pharmaceutical Profiles’ headquarters is a two-storey development, covering 2,225m2 (20,000ft2) and comprises: • Three dedicated clinical imaging suites, each with a networked gamma camera, a 10-bed ward and specific leisure area for volunteers • State-of-the-art ADAC Forte dual-headed gamma camera for studies requiring 3D SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) and whole body imaging. • cGMP facility for the preparation of radiolabelled dosage forms • Research and analytical laboratories for development of radiolabelled formulations • Offices, meeting rooms and seminar facilities • Videoconferencing facilities
