Progeny bioVentures Limited

Progeny bioVentures is a subsidiary of ANGLE Technology Ltd with the remit to establish new companies from the UK bioscience base. Progeny appraises new company opportunities, develops business plans and secures funding from venture capital and other sources. Progeny's financial return depends entirely on the success of the companies it establishes. Equity stakes are negotiated as appropriate with the scientific innovators, the technology source organisation and funding sources.



Progeny provides access to a seasoned management team with in-depth experience of company start-ups and biotech product development. As the new Company develops, Progeny is able to access a fulltime management team through ANGLE Technology.



Progeny has been granted an award under the Department of Trade and Industry’s Biotechnology Mentoring and Incubation (BMI) Challenge in collaboration with University of Bristol and supported by the Universities of Southampton and Edinburgh and the Rowett Research Institute. However, Progeny extends to all UK universities, research institutes and technology source organisations including major corporates.



The Progeny process involves:

·Appraisal and protection of intellectual property and freedom-to-operate.

·Market research, including analysis of competitors market entry barriers

·Business planning

·Company formation

·Raising finance from venture capital and non-dilutive sources.

·Commercial and general management

·Early stage partnering, including licence negotiation and technology acquisition.

·Securing permanent, experienced management to take the Company through to product launch and beyond.
