Less than two years after launching the world's first all-digital, hand-carried ultrasound system, in April 2001 SonoSite introduced the SonoSite 180PLUS system -- putting full-featured diagnostic capability into the hands of physicians for immediate assessment at the point of care.

Building on our successful SonoSite 180 platform, we have added powerful new features that enhance utility, image quality and versatility without sacrificing portability, ease-of-use or affordability. The SonoSite 180PLUS delivers features previously found only in more expensive cart-based systems including Pulsed Wave (PW) Doppler, Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI), M-mode and ECG capability in an all-digital system weighing less than six pounds.



On February 4, 2002, SonoSite introduced the SonoHeart ELITE hand-carried ultrasound system, the first all-digital, hand-carried ultrasound system with continuous wave (CW) Doppler and Extended Resolution Harmonic (ERH) Imaging. The SonoHeart ELITE system is the world's first truly portable ultrasound system with complete echocardiography capabilities
