SynCo Bio Partners B.V. is an ultramodern, private company (a former production facility of Chiron) based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The company boasts over 10 years of experience in process development and manufacture of biologics. Its workforce is made up of highly skilled personnel and now totals 45 employees. SynCo's mission is to facilitate commercialization of biomolecular research, by developing cost-effective and scaleable manufacturing processes, all through state-of-the-art technology. SynCo's Biotechnology Center accomodates a fully equipped and cGMP licensed plant, including laboratories for advanced analytical and process development, separate suites for small and large scale fermentation, purification and aseptic filling, facilities for freeze-drying and for labeling and packaging. As such, it is ideally suited for taking a product through initial development stages, from process design up to and including manufacture of product for use in clinical trials. Clients may choose from SynCo's broad array of services in accordance with specific needs e.g. supply of formulated lyophilized product for clinical studies only. In-house expertise is available for effective regulatory guidance, both on pharmaceutical and clinical issues. Production is currently based on bacteriall cell systems, but expansion into mammalian cell technology is being realised. To be able to offer the broadest possible biopharmaceutical services, SynCo has entered into a number of partnerships with highly specialized organisations e.g. Amersham Pharmacia Biotech. Thus, clients will not need to seek additional resources themselves - a real one-stop-shopping concept.
