CE certificates for its tissue engineering product and bandage lens
Aeon Astron Europe B.V. (AAE) (8 April, 2008. Leiden,
the Netherlands) announced today that it attained the CE certificates for its
newly introduced collagen matrix and bandage lens.
The approved collagen matrix is applied to tissue repair in ophthalmology,
general, plastic and dentistry surgery. By applying AAE’s collagen matrix, it
can modulate the wound healing and create a physiological and regenerative
growth for the new tissue. This collagen matrix is a 3-D scaffold which
has10~300 m porous structure. Size and shape has ranged from small to large for
different indications.
The ologen™ plano bandage lens is a large lens and with the size of 19mm
diameter, ologen™ plano bandage lens can protect the surgical site after surgery
or fix the thin eye dressing direct contact with the eye surface.
Since 1998, Aeon Astron Corporation has grown both in the scope of products it
offers and in the area it serves. AAC product lines, ologen™ in ophthalmology,
Aongen™ Dental and Aongen™ in plastic & general surgery usage .
Bio cornea and other researches:
AAE is dedicated to the sales and marketing for the products that Body Organ
Biomedical Corporation (BOBC) and Aeon Astron Corporation (AAC) have developed.
Currently BOBC has some projects undergoing that includes bio cornea and other
devices to treat other ophthalmic disease. For this bio cornea, the in vitro
result is fantastic and the animal study will be followed very soon. Patent has
firstly filed to USPTO. PCT and other fillings will be submitted.
BOBC has filed four patents to USPTO, PCT and related countries. “We are also
working with long effective dermal filler that most likely to be effective for
24 months” said Michael Lai, the CEO. “ Our major focus will be in
ophthalmology, dental, aesthetic and plastic surgery in the coming years. The
ophthalmology application covers bio cornea and other research too. For general,
aesthetic and plastic surgery, dental applications, tissue repair and tissue
augmentation will be the major field to work with.”
Another filed patent is drug bonding technology and device. This aims to bond or
embed drug with biomaterial and uses the biomaterial as carrier for target and
slow release.
