World Leading Cardiologists Join BSP's Scientific Advisory Board

BSP, an Israeli ground-breaking start-up company, heralding a revolution in the field of non-invasive diagnosis of Ischemic Heart Disease, recently announced that world leading cardiologists have joined its international scientific advisory board.

Among the leading cardiologists who have joined the company's scientific board are:

Anthony N. DeMaria, MD – Cardiologist, Director of the Cardiovascular Center at the University of California, San Diego. Editor-in-chief of the prestigious Journal of the American College of Cardiology and past president of the American College of Cardiology and of the American Society of Echocardiography, Dr. DeMaria served as a member of the Subspecialty Board on Cardiovascular Disease of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Chair of the Diagnostic Radiology Study Section of the National Institutes of Health. He holds memberships in numerous professional organizations, including the American Heart Association, the American Federation for Clinical Research and the Association of University Cardiologists.

Ori Ben-Yehuda, MD – Cardiologist, Director of the Coronary Care Unit at the California University, San-Diego Medical Center,. Dr. Ben-Yehuda is currently the deputy editor of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

George A. Beller, MD – Cardiologist, former Chief of the Cardiovascular Division at the University of Virginia Health System for 27 years. Dr. Beller’s research has predominantly been in the field of nuclear cardiology. He is the author of Clinical Nuclear Cardiology and co-edited Nuclear Cardiology: State of the Art and Future Directions, the third edition. He is currently editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Beller has played a leadership role on the national and international level in various cardiovascular societies and organizations. He was chairman of the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association (AHA) and chair of the AHA Scientific Advisory Committee. He served 12 years on the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Board of Trustees, was chairman of the ACC Board of Governors, and then president of the ACC (2000-2001). He is the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award and the James B. Herrick Award from the American Heart Association.

Noel Bairey-Merz, MD – Cardiologist, Medical Director of the Preventive and Rehabilitative Cardiac Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Bairey-Merz holds the Women's Guild Chair in Women's Health and is the Medical Director of Women's Health at Cedars-Sinai. Her primary area of research interest involves the development and prevention of heart disease in women, including the role of nutrition, exercise and stress. She is Chair of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored multi-center study, Women's Ischemic Syndrome Evaluation (WISE), which is investigating the potential for more effective diagnostic and evaluation methods of coronary artery disease in women. Dr. Bairey-Merz is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American College of Cardiology.

Harold Dauerman, MD – Cardiologist, Director of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratories at Fletcher Allen Health Care, University of Vermont College of Medicine. As an expert in cardiac catheterization and percutaneous cardiovascular revascularization techniques, Dr. Dauerman has a broad background in clinical medicine, research, teaching and hospital administration. In addition to his work as a principal investigator on many trials testing the efficacy of diverse invasive cardiology techniques, he has lectured and published widely on invasive cardiology treatment including coronary stenting, acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock.

Richard Bach, MD – Cardiologist, Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Division of Cardiovascular Disease, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Bach specializes in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology and cardiac critical care.

Gregory Barsness, MD – Cardiologist, Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. Dr. Barsness is an expert in the field of Cardiology. His expertise and research fields include interventional cardiology, acute coronary syndromes, cardiovascular complications of diabetes mellitus and novel chest pain therapies.
