Borean Pharma was established with the objective to develop a new generation of pharmaceutical protein products. The Company's competitive advantage lies in its proprietary technology, enabling it to develop a new generation of highly efficacious compounds and antibody analogues. Based on the tetranectin antibody molecule, Borean has derived a vast library of proteins with potential therapeutic applications. In addition, through a process of trimerisation, Borean can enhance the efficacy and stability of these proteins, greatly increasing their effectiveness in a therapeutic setting. In addition, the ease of production in E.coli addresses a major shortcoming of monoclonal antibodies. Borean has two preclinical lead programmes targeting atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis and a number of discovery programmes.
