Lab M’s Sakazakii Solutions take centre stage at
Medica
5 November 2009; Bury, Lancs, UK: Lab M’s
Sakazakii Solutions, a range of microbiological media that provides a choice of
products to meet all the recognised requirements for the culture and isolation
of Cronobacter sakazakii, will be a major focus on the Lab M stand at Medica
2009 (18-21 November, Düsseldorf, Germany). The company’s expanding Harlequin™
brand chromogenic media, which includes two of the three C. sakazakii products,
will also be on display. In addition there will be the first news of selected
products launching in 2010.
A foodborne pathogen, C. sakazakii is associated with sporadic cases and
outbreaks of meningitis, necrotising enterocolitis and sepsis, especially in
newborns. The three key media for its isolation and identification are all
available from Lab M and meet the need for simplified methods of testing:
• Harlequin™ CSIM – Cronobacter sakazakii Isolation Medium (ISO);
• CSEB - Cronobacter sakazakii Enrichment Broth (ISO);
• Harlequin™ CSA-DFI - Cronobacter sakazakii Agar – DFI Formulation.
Harlequin™ CSA-DFI - Cronobacter sakazakii Agar – DFI Formulation is one of the
most recent additions to Lab M’s highly respected Harlequin™ range of
chromogenic media. Developed to improve the isolation and identification of a
variety of micro-organisms, Harlequin™ media can help reduce the need for
subculture and confirmatory biochemical tests. The range also includes media for
Listeria monocytogenes isolation, the enumeration of coliforms, and E. coli
O157:H7 and Salmonella species isolation.
For more details of these and Lab M’s extensive media range, visit Hall 1, Stand
F22 at Medica, where the company’s specialists will be pleased to discuss your
individual requirements. If you would like to make a specific appointment please
