London, Manchester, Munich – 25th October 2006 Northbank
Communications Ltd, the leading consultancy in science and life
science communications, has announced the appointment of Dr Robert
Mayer as Account Executive in the Munich office. Robert’s
appointment both expands Northbank’s team in Munich and further
strengthens its scientific expertise.
Robert has recently completed a PhD in Cell Biology at the
department of Human Genetics in Ludwigs-Maximilians-University,
Munich. There he gained research experience that combined stem
cell research with fluorescent-in-situ-hybridisation (FISH),
confocal microscopy technologies and computerized data analysis on
the topic of nuclear architecture. During his PhD, Robert
supervised two diploma students. Robert originally graduated from
the LMU with a Diploma in Human Genetics, with side subjects in
biochemistry, genetics and botany.
A native German speaker, fluent in English, Robert is responsible
for account support of communication programs for public and
private biotech clients handled out of the Munich Office.
Commenting on the appointment, Account Director and Munich Bureau
Chief, Dr Douglas Pretsell said “Over the past six months we have
been very successful in growing the Munich office with the
addition of 15 clients, including mtm laboratories, Nitec Pharma,
4-antibody, ImVision Therapeutics, Fibrex Medical, Oridis, Ergomed,
