London, Manchester, Munich - 11^th September 2006  Northbank Communications Limited, the leading consultancy in science and life science communications, has announced the appointment of Tony Stephenson as Account Manager, Media Relations.

Tony is a specialist at media relations to the populist as well as specialist media. Over the past six years Tony has worked with various science and research institutions, plus associations and corporations, converting newsflow and messaging into UK national and global media coverage. A key component of Tony’s activities is an understanding of individual journalists, what they are seeking as stories, the timescales on which they operate and the deadlines they adhere to. Tony comes to Northbank from Imperial College London where, as press officer, he was responsible for creating story angles from complex research that appealed to national and global press.

Tony will be based in Northbank’s London offices and will work across a broad spectrum of clients, devising and executing media relations strategies, with a focus on the national press. Tony’s skill set is applicable to financial media relations for publicly listed companies, and corporate profile building for private companies, plus creating angles on complex science for the wider public and the medical community.
