- Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) is pleased to announce the
conclusion of a series of Japanese licensing agreements giving Bio
Matrix Research Inc. and Filgen Inc. access to OGT’s “Southern
array patents”, the fundamental patents covering the manufacture
and marketing of oligonucleotide microarrays. Dr Michael Bennett, Vice President Licensing Asia, at OGT said: “These two licenses continue the rapid progress of OGT’s Japanese licensing programme, where we have granted licenses to both large multinational companies and small start up organisations. These licenses serve to illustrate the broad range of microarray patent rights that OGT offers, and that OGT works to ensure that any organisation can obtain access to the Southern patents, regardless of its size.” These licenses will remain valid for the patents’ lifetime.
