Milestone
reached as PANalytical celebrates 5th anniversary!
21 September 2007
Almelo, The Netherlands: PANalytical, the analytical X-ray company, is
celebrating five years of significant growth and development achieved since its
launch in September 2002. At that time the business, which was founded in The
Netherlands in 1948 by Philips, changed its name following its acquisition by
Spectris plc. PANalytical has since firmly established its leading brand,
reputation and position in the global marketplace around the company’s
market-leading technologies and ground-breaking products.
Over the last five years, the number of systems sold by PANalytical has grown
very significantly. Worldwide the company now employs over 850 people.
Commercial director Dr. Guido Eggermont says: “The way we do business and
interact with customers and collaborators at all levels, our ability to innovate
and bring the right products to market and support them around the world, are
all important elements of our success. In 2002 we introduced a new name to the
marketplace. Today PANalytical is well known and feedback from our customers,
old and new, indicates that they recognize and value what we stand for. This is
certainly supported by our growing sales and profitability over the past five
years.”
Many factors have been important in establishing PANalytical as a company. Dr
Eggermont again: “Being close to our customers is critical – both physically and
intellectually. We now have, for example, applications laboratories in all major
markets, local teams in more than 60 countries, and attend around 100 industry
events each year.”
PANalytical systems for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry and X-ray
diffraction (XRD) are applied in fundamental scientific research, industrial
R&D, quality and production control, environmental monitoring and semiconductor
metrology. They are used for structural and elemental analysis, and
characterization of a wide range of materials. These include cement and other
building materials, plastics and polymers, petrochemicals, industrial minerals
and mining, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, thin films and advanced materials,
food and cosmetics, recycled materials and environmental samples.
