Quantum Genomics Corp Names Jean-Pierre Riffaud
Head of Preclinical Development |
Previously with NicOx and Cellpep, Riffaud will lead Quantum Genomics to
achieve the first stage development of its future therapeutic products
Jersey City, New Jersey, October 18, 2006 - Quantum Genomics Corp (QGC),
a global biotechnology company seeking to develop treatments for metabolism
diseases and cardiovascular pathologies, announces today that Jean-Pierre
Riffaud has joined the company as head of preclinical development.
"Jean-Pierre's expertise in the development of molecules and his extensive
experience in middle pharma and biotech brings Quantum Genomics a much sought
after skill-set that will greatly further our development," says Lionel Segard,
CEO of QGC. "With Jean-Pierre on board, we will be ready to launch the first
stage development of our therapeutic products in the next few months."
QGC aims to develop innovative human health products in therapeutic areas where
there is an unmet medical need. As head of preclinical development, Riffaud will
be responsible for setting up the first preclinical developments as well as
evaluating partnership opportunities, notably within the academic community.
Riffaud, 59, was previously in charge of preclinical development at Cellpep,
until the firm's recent acquisition by Canadian biotech company, Procyon
Biopharma. Prior to that, he was senior project leader at NicOx, where he
focused on preclinical development for clinical studies. Complementing this
experience, Riffaud spent a major part of his career within mid-size French
pharmaceutical groups, such as the Fournier Group and the Debat Laboratories.
Riffaud has a PhD in Pharmacology from the School of Pharmacy, University of
Paris and a diploma in Quality Assurance Management.
