Just to whet your appetite:

90% of cancer death is caused by metastases, but nearly all research to date has focused on primary cancers. If a cancer metastasizes, it is almost always fatal and doctors can mostly only alleviate pain. However, research conducted in the last few years has identified that blocking the adhesion of free floating tumour cells is a route to prevent metastases.

Unibioscreen has a program to address metastatic adhesion by targeting Galectin 1.

Unibioscreen has a portfolio of compounds addressing novel and effective cytotoxic and/or anti-migratory cancer chemotherapeutics, mainly sourced from plants and marine sponges.
