November 2006 – West Pharmaceutical Services (NYSE: WST), the global market
leader in closure systems and syringe components for use with injectable
drugs, announced three key management appointments as part of the Company’s
Asia-Pacific expansion plans to meet growing customer demand. The newly
appointed team will lead projects to expand West’s existing capacity in
Singapore and establish new operations in China.
Mr. Ron Van Dijk has been appointed to the position of the
Managing Director and Vice President Asia Pacific to oversee the Asia Pacific
expansion. Mr. Van Dijk has been with West since 1997 and most recently served
as Vice President Finance for Europe and Asia Pacific.
Technology development and coordination of equipment and
processes for the Asia-Pacific expansion will be led by Mr. Marc Kreutz, who
has been with West for over 26 years. Mr. Kreutz, previously held key
positions in West plant management in France, Singapore and Germany and will
now serve as Director of Technology, Europe & Asia Pacific.
Operational aspects, including construction and installation of
West’s new site in China, will be managed by Mr. Matthias Quint in his new
role as Project Director, China. Mr. Quint has led major European expansion
projects over the last five years and has been closely aligned with West’s
manufacturing operations since 2000. For the Chinese facility, technology
development and employee training will take place in West’s Stolberg Germany
plant prior to opening the China plants.
