mtm laboratories extends marketing & sales team

Felix Dross and Jan Wauters to join

Heidelberg, Germany;  August 29, 2006. mtm laboratories today announced that it has made two key appointments in its marketing and sales divisions. Dr Felix Dross and Jan Wauters have both been appointed to join mtm as Directors, Marketing & Sales.

Dr Felix Dross has 15 years experience in general management, marketing and sales, primarily in diagnostics. In particular he was previously the German country manager for Cytyc, Inc. Dr Dross built up Cytyc's most successful European subsidiary, coordinating sales of ThinPrep Pap Test products for screening and diagnosis of cervical cancer.

Jan Wauters joins mtm from Digene Corporation, where he was the European Product and Marketing Manager.  He was responsible for the marketing of their HCII HPV test in the cervical cancer screening area across the whole of Europe. Prior to this, he was the European Marketing Manager for Women’s Health Diagnostics at Ventana Medical Systems.

"Cervical cancer is the largest single market for cancer screening assays and diagnostics and there is already a strong clinical demand for our proprietary p16^INK4a biomarker assays,” said Robert Silverman, Chief Commercial Officer for mtm laboratories and President of mtm's US subsidiary. “We are therefore delighted to appoint two top level marketing and sales  professionals with substantial experience in the commercialisation of diagnostics for cervical cancer.”
