The book is co-edited by Dr. Eric Rubin, Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard School of Public Health. It provides the basis for the three-volume set by focusing on the genomic and genetic nature of the pathogen as well as current medical advancements that combat the bacterium on a molecular level.
