The report is based on 106 responses, obtained primarily from University, Research Institute or Not-for-Profit Facilities in both Europe and North America.

HTStec's Sample Preparation Trends 2009 report was published on 16 March 2009. This 60 page report summarizes the results of HTStec’s industry-wide global web-based benchmarking survey on sample preparation carried out in March 2009. The main objectives were to comprehensively document current practices, preferences and trends in sample preparation instruments, extraction/purification reagents, kits and validated protocols, and to understand future user requirements. Part of the study specifically addressed magnetic-particle based sample preparation. Equal emphasis was given to soliciting opinion from all organizations types where sample preparation is currently being investigated, with no geographic bias in the distribution of persons contacted. The report is based on 273 responses.

This 57 page report summarizes the results of HTStec’s third global Pharma and Biotech web-based benchmarking survey on GPCR screening & profiling carried out in July 2008. The objectives of this study were to better understand: 1) recent changes in GPCR assay metrics; 2) to comprehensively document current practices and technology preferences for GPCR primary screening and compound profiling; and 3) to understand future user requirements, particularly with respect to the need for outsourced services. The report is based on 68 responses from 42 different companies/organizations.

This 56 page report summarizes the results of HTStec’s global Pharma and Biotech web-based benchmarking survey on kinase screening and profiling carried out in May 2008. The objectives were to document current practices and preferences in kinase screening and profiling, and to understand future user requirements, particularly with respect to the need for outsourced services. The aim was to compile a reference document on kinase screening and profiling metrics, which could be directly compared relative to HTStec’s 2006 report. The report is based on 53 responses from 41 different companies/organizations.

Automated Biobanking Trends 2008
HTStec's Automated Biobanking Trends 2008 report was published on 17 November 2008. This 55 page report summarizes the results of HTStec’s industry-wide global web-based benchmarking survey on automated biobanking carried out in November 2008. The objectives were to comprehensively document changes in current interest in automated biobanking since HTStec’s previous 2006 survey, and to gain a better understanding of future market requirements for automated deep-cooled (-20oC and below) biobanks. The report is based on 54 responses. Equal emphasis was given to soliciting opinion from pharmaceutical & biotech companies; academic laboratories; and private and publicly-funded research organizations. In addition, other groups (e.g. population genomics projects), who have a necessity to store large numbers of biological samples participated. The majority of labs contacted were in North America and Europe.

HTStec's Live Cell & Kinetic HCS Imaging Trends 2008 report was published on 22 December 2008. This 54 page report summarizes the results of HTStec’s industry-wide global web-based benchmarking survey on live cell and kinetic high content screening (HCS) imaging carried out in December 2008. The objectives were to comprehensively document current use, interest and requirements for live cell and kinetic HCS imaging. It also attempts to identify emerging applications, market opportunities, unmet needs and demand for live cell and kinetic HCS imaging products. The report is based on 79 responses. Equal emphasis was given to soliciting opinion from pharmaceutical & biotech companies, academic laboratories and research organizations. The majority of labs contacted were in North America and Europe.
