Dr. Rubenstein played key research and development roles for the Syva Company up to the vice president level. During 12 years with Syva, he co-invented their highly successful EMIT immunoassay technology, developed numerous products, and directed both project management and strategic planning activities. Dr. Rubenstein received his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and did two years post-doctoral training in microbiology and molecular biology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
