Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI) is a global contract research and manufacturing organization offering customers fully integrated drug discovery, development, and manufacturing services. For over 22 years AMRI has demonstrated its adaptability as the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries have undergone tremendous change in response to multiple challenges. This experience, a track record of success and locations in North America, Europe and Asia now provide our customers with SMARTSOURCING™, a full range of value-added opportunities providing customers informed decision-making, enhanced efficiency and more successful outcomes at all stages of the pipeline. AMRI has also successfully partnered R&D programs and is actively seeking to out-license its remaining programs for further development.
AMRI’s services include Contract Research (Discovery), Development and Contract Manufacturing including Aseptic Fill and Finish. Since 1991, AMRI has steadily expanded and globalized its contract services platform beyond its major U.S. facilities through a combination of acquisitions and green field initiatives, which include:

  • process development and large scale manufacturing in the UK;
  • custom library synthesis, medicinal chemistry, chemical development and cGMP scale up and manufacturing in India;
  • medicinal chemistry and in vitro biology in Singapore;
  • aseptic fill and finish capabilities in Burlington, Massachusetts. 

AMRI provides a broad range of services and technologies to provide flexible and strategic support for discovery and development of pharmaceutical products and the manufacturing of API and drug product for existing and experimental new drugs, providing geographic proximity and creative budgetary solutions. 

AMRI is also investing in a small number of discovery programs with the intention to partner promising technology, a high value added service having resulted in five clinical candidates and licensing partnerships with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genentech and Bessor Pharma.
