Founded in 1987, Advanced Tissue Sciences (ATIS) has developed a technology to manufacture human-based tissues and organs for repair and transplantation. Focusing mainly on the therapeutic products, the Company's technologies have broad applications throughout the traditional healing and transplant markets. Advanced Tissue Sciences is focusing on two cell types, fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) and chondrocytes (cartilage cells).
