D-Herb Ltd. was founded in November 2002, as a start-up company in the NGT Technological Incubator in Nazareth. The company was founded on the initiative of Dr. Sobhi Sauob, an expert in medicinal herb applications. The company's main objective is as follows:
"The evaluation of traditional herbal medicine products for their potential as modern drugs".
D-Herb Ltd. develops herbal products for various medicinal applications along two main routes. At first instance, the products are evaluated and tested as nutritional supplements, and also produced and marketed as such. At the same time, the products will be evaluated as potential pharmaceutical products and the necessary steps will be taken to obtain the scientific data required, to perform clinical trials on humans to further the pharmaceutical development.
The first product D-Herb Ltd. has under investigation, is an herbal extract which causes a lowering of glucose levels in the bloodstream of diabetic patients and there are indications that at the same time, it also stabilizes the glucose level.
The folk medicine culture of the Galilee has a very large supply of herbal products for a wide variety of applications and D-Herb Ltd. will evaluate additional promising materials and take on their development according to their potential.
