Paragon Biomedical Company Profile
Paragon Biomedical, Inc. (originally Professional Research Network, Inc.) was founded on November 8, 1989 by Gena & Nick Reed. The Reed's brought extensive experience from the pharmaceutical industry to this new endeavor. Gena possessed experience in the human resources, finance and marketing/sales side of the industry, while Nick provided expertise based on many years as a monitor, project manager and consultant.
To make a difference in the world through our passionate pursuit of improved healthcare. Like many new enterprises, Paragon was initially operated from a spare room within Gena and Nick's home. The company was essentially a "network" of independent contract monitors serving the needs of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. As a result of Paragon's early success, a "real office" was leased within two years and permanent, full-time employees were hired.
Because success in clinical trials was largely based on the strong leadership of project teams, Paragon's earliest employees were Project Managers. One of Gena and Nick's critical early decisions was to hire the best Project Managers in the industry, regardless of their location. This was the origin of Paragon's unique decentralized business model, which is still in existence today. This business model has allowed clinical associates to continue their careers with Paragon without regard to their geographic location. As a result, Paragon has enjoyed high associate satisfaction and one of the lowest turnover rates within the CRO industry.
