Refine Technology Company Profile
Refine Technology was founded in 1999 with a vision to bring to the biopharmaceutical market cell separation systems that allow for increased productivity of cell derived biopharmaceuticals. Refine soon introduced its ATF System which is now being used in the development and manufacturing facilities of many biological and pharmaceutical companies, and in the commercial manufacture of two protein based drugs.
The initial focus and success has been on upstream intensification, from cell bank through to ultra high cell concentration harvests, and forms the basis of a new facility design approach often called "Factory of the Future".
The benefits of the ATF System are now being applied to an increasing range of downstream applications, from hybrid production processes and extended clarification (primary recovery), to standard UF/DF applications, and the use of precipitation as a tool for both protein purification and HCP/DNA removal.
The expanding area of stem cell bioprocessing is also profiting through the use of the ATF System with a patent pending screen filter. Originally used for adherent cells and vaccine processes, the similar problems facing larger scale stem cell production make the ATF System an ideal solution for manufacturing these new medicines.
The company, based in New Jersey, USA, about half an hour from Newark Airport, has worldwide sales and technical support through a network of distributors.
