American Academy of Professional Coders Company Profile
American Academy of Professional Coders membership spans all 50 states and several foreign countries. It is supported by a National Advisory Board made up of certified members representing clinics, facilities, payers and consulting firms. The American Academy of Professional Coders National Advisory Board offers direct input into the certification programs, educational curricula, and membership services offered by the Academy. The American Academy of Professional Coders is also supported by a National Physician Advisory Board with physicians from many different specialties.
Code of Ethical Standards Code of ethics
Members of the American Academy of Professional Coders shall be dedicated to providing the highest standard of professional coding and billing services to employers, clients and patients. Behavior of the American Academy of Professional Coders members must be exemplary.
American Academy of Professional Coders members shall maintain the highest standard of personal and professional conduct. Members shall respect the rights of patients, clients, employers and all other colleagues.
Members shall use only legal and ethical means in all professional dealings, and shall refuse to cooperate with or condone by silence, the actions of those who engage in fraudulent, deceptive or illegal acts.
Members shall respect the laws and regulations of the land, and uphold the mission statement of the American Academy of Professional Coders
