Hypophysectomy

Hypophysectomy is the surgical removal of the pituitary gland, also called hypophysis. It is most commonly performed to treat tumors, especially craniopharyngioma tumors. Sometimes it is used to treat Cushing's syndrome due to pituitary adenoma. (From the Wikpedia article Hypophysectomy.)
