BioCentral Investors’ Day
Nottingham, UK, 21st
February - BioCentral, an association of the Midlands’ leading
research universities and business organisations, is holding its first
Investors’ Day on 28th April in Nottingham. Potential investors will receive a
selection of presentations from the Midlands’ best emerging biosciences and
medical technology companies currently looking for up to £5m of investment.
They will also learn from the region’s academic leaders about exciting
developments in areas such as autologous stem cell research and personalised
medicine that are set to offer significant commercial opportunities in growth
markets.
The region’s leading life science and medical departments
will also showcase their research and IP capabilities. Presentations will be
supported by posters and exhibitions to enable investors to gain more
information on any companies or technologies that are of particular interest
to them.
The Investors’ Day has been developed in conjunction with
Connect Midlands, which ensures that presenting companies are professionally
mentored and trained to deliver attractive, high quality business
opportunities to potential investors. A panel of highly experienced technology
assessors and mentors has ensured that the companies focus on realisable
commercial opportunities. Already a significant number of leading specialist
investors in the sector have signed up to the event.
Glen Crocker, CEO of BioCity Nottingham and co-founder of
BioCentral commented, “This will be the first time a significant group of
specialist bioscience investors has come to view the opportunities available
in the region and reflects the fact that the high quality businesses and
research are moving into the limelight.”
