Capsulution NanoScience AG Diagnostic Particle Expert Appointed to Advisory Board
Berlin (March 22, 2004) - Since February this year Harri Härmä, PhD, scientist at the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Turku, Finland, is the most recent member appointed to the scientific advisory board of the Berlin-based technology company Capsulution NanoScience AG.
37-year old Härmä is a renowned expert in the field of diagnostic particles, and has substantially contributed to several industry reports on this subject. In addition to this he is co-author of numerous publications. His research activities are in the fields of nanoparticles, fluorescent dyes, nanoparticle-based assays as well as innovative homogeneous and heterogeneous assay methods.
During the 90s Härmä worked for the Finnish chemical companies Kemira Ltd and Leiras Ltd, for the Swiss chemical corporation Ciba-Geigy as well as for the University of Zurich. Currently, he acts as a senior scientist in the University of Turku, where he is involved in different research projects.
Härmä extends Capsulution.s scientific advisory board on which Prof. Dieter Berg (Bayer AG, D), Prof. Helmuth Möhwald (Max-Planck-Institute for Colloids and Interfaces, D), Prof. Clive Wilson (Strathclyde Institute for Biomedical Sciences, UK) and Prof. Achim Göpferich (University of Regensburg, D) already hold positions.

Capsulution NanoScience AG develops innovative nano- and micron-sized capsules. The company applies its proprietary so-called LBL-Technology®. Based on their minute size, their functionality and their highly reproducible production process the capsules can be used for a multitude of different applications.
