CATACHEM, INC. announces the addition of Fructosamine (glycated proteins) to the DiscretePak™ and VetSpec™ line of diagnostic chemistry reagents

CATACHEM, INC. is pleased to announce the addition of Fructosamine (glycated proteins) to the DiscretePak™ and VetSpec™ line of diagnostic chemistry reagents.

Fructosamine has been advocated as an alternative test for hemoglobin A1C. Although the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognizes both tests, fructosamine, may be more effective in cases of sudden changes of diabetes treatment, diabetic pregnancy and RBC loss or abnormalities.

Catachem procedure is based on, and is in excellent agreement with, the widely accepted NBT reference method. The reagent is formulated to eliminate interference from lipemia, uric acid, glucose, and hemolysis. This procedure is precise, accurate and does not produce low negative values as observed with the enzymatic procedures.

Please contact Catachem for your analyzer application and evaluation samples.
