Entomed appoints Dr. Yves Ribeill to its board of directors

Strasbourg (France), October 6, 2004 - Entomed S.A. today announced the appointment of Dr. Yves Ribeill as an independent board member of the company. Dr. Ribeill brings to Entomed valuable international experience in medicinal chemistry, a worldwide contact network and management skills in the biopharmaceutical field.

Dr. Ribeill, 45, is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Scynexis (Research Triangle Park, NC, USA), a company specializing in medicinal chemistry. Qualified as Doctor of Chemistry at the University of Montpellier in 1984, Dr. Ribeill held various positions at Rhône-Poulenc and then Aventis during a 20 years international career. These included Discovery Chemistry Group leader for Anti-Viral Research and later in the Central Nervous System Group in France. He then became Group Leader in the Cardiovascular Group in England in 1992. Upon his return to France in 1995, he was appointed Director of Chemistry for the Anti-Infective Group. He was involved in all phases of the drug discovery and development effort that led to FDA approval of the anti-bacterial Synercid in 1999. Dr. Ribeill is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the World Health Organization.
