Genetix Competent Cells offer sub 60 second transformation New Milton, Hampshire, UK, 14 April, 2005 - The ECOSTM range of Competent Cells, available form Genetix Ltd, is designed to provide the fastest, single-step transformation process available. The simple protocol takes just under 60 seconds from addition of the DNA to plating. This compares with more than 60 minutes using traditional techniques. Previously, shortening a protocol has resulted in loss of efficiency. In contrast, the ECOSTM range always maintains its stated efficiency levels. Presented in a choice of formats to suit differing throughput levels the range includes single tubes and 12x8 tube strips, as well as supporting full automation on most popular robotic systems via hard shell 96-well PCR plates.
