TORONTO, ON, Mar. 1 /BioNewsCast/ - Montalier International Ltd., a leading international partnering consultancy and conference organizer, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Toronto-based Tri-Med Pharmaceuticals to acquire all its assets. Most of Tri-Med’s business will continue under the new name Abamont Pharma, as a division of Montalier International Ltd.

"By integrating Tri-Med into our own organization under the new name Abamont, we have taken the ultimate consequence of a long-term relationship that has brought our day-to-day operations gradually closer,” said Mr. Vidar Bentzen, Montalier’s President and CEO. “At the same time, we also want to signal a strategic adjustment by choosing a new name for the business.”

With the acquisition of Tri-Med and the creation of Abamont Pharma,  Montalier will be able to offer local representation to foreign pharma and biotech companies wishing to enter the attractive Canadian market.

Abamont will focus on niche therapeutics and highly specialized market segments, which represents a streamlining of the original business scope of Tri-Med.

“Abamont fills the need for an alternative path to the Canadian market for some of Montalier’s international clients, whose niche products may not be of commercial interest to mainstream pharma companies”, said Mr. Bentzen. “As such, Abamont complements other partnership services that Montalier is offering clients in Canada and abroad.”
