Thomson Launches its 2005 Liquent Regulatory Affairs Trends Survey Thousands of Pharmaceutical Professionals are Targeted to Contribute to this Premier Benchmark of Global Regulatory Trends Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - April 14th, 2005— Today, Thomson Scientific & Healthcare, the global leader in providing regulatory software solutions, information products and related services for the life sciences industry, announced that its 2005 Liquent Regulatory Affairs Trends Survey is underway. Pharmaceutical regulatory professionals are invited to participate in the survey which provides insight and perspective into how regulatory departments use technology and how they plan to harness technology in the future. The survey, which will gather input through to mid May and publish its findings at the end of June, is today recognized as the premier benchmark of global regulatory submissions trends. Thomson Scientific & Healthcare is part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC). This year’s global survey, which is expected to yield substantial responses from Europe and North America, concentrates on four key areas; Technology Usage Trends including both submission publishing software and other desktop software, Document Management System usage, Regulatory Outsourcing trends, and Regulatory trends including use or future use of the eCTD . Additionally this year’s survey will also address the broader regulatory product management needs including registration management, submission project management and product information management both today and in the future. Chronicled in previous years by several global life science industry publications and widely sourced, the Liquent Regulatory Affairs Trends Survey 2005 promises to provide new insights into how life science professionals are embracing technology, responding to rapid regulatory change, and handling the deadline pressures of mission-critical regulatory submissions. Jim Nichols is Liquent’s Vice President of Product Strategy and Marketing and is driving this worldwide initiative. “The survey contributes significantly to advancing our understanding of the distinct needs of the global regulatory market and helps us to build upon our leadership position by creating an ongoing dialogue with key regulatory professionals across North America and Europe.” Jim continues, “As a part of Thomson Scientific, we are now significantly better placed to anticipate market needs and develop best in class technologies and partnerships that will underpin the regulatory product management needs of our clients and prospects.” The summary of findings, which is expected to be distributed to authorized participants in late June 2005, is already attracting interest from regulatory affairs professionals, publishers and conference organisers.
