Just before Christmas Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik GmbH from
Berlin/Germany made itself a big present when the company passed the
pharmaceutical GMP inspection by their local health authoritiy. Now
Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik is allowed to manufacture biologicals (API)
from recombinant animal and hybridoma cell lines for clinical studies
phases I to III.
Alpha
Bioverfahrenstechnik GmbH is a specialised service provider who has been
manufacturing proteins and antibodies for customers since 1996. Well
situated at Europarc Dreilinden just outside Berlin, the new
production site offers space and capactities for biopharmaceutical
projects, starting from cell banking and process development and going
on to the manufacture of the bulk ingredients.
The
new license makes Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik one of the few custom
manufacturers (CMO) in Europe that are allowed to produce
biopharmaceutical ingredients for human clinical trials from recombinant
animal cells.
Worldwide
there is a development crunch for new biologicals originating from the
lack of suitable production sites. Thus the additional capacities
provided by Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik are much needed.
Alpha
Biovefahrenstechnik will provide
customers from both Europe and overseas.

13 AMG
Berlin:
Kurz vor Weihnachten hat sich die Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik GmbH aus
Kleinmachnow selber ein Weihnachtsgeschenk gemacht. Die Inspektion durch
das Landesgesundheitsamt Brandenburg wurde erfolgreich bestanden, so
dass das Unternehmen ab sofort biologische Wirkstoffe (API) aus
rekombinanten tierischen und Hybridomazelllinien für klinische Studien
der Phasen I bis III hergestellt darf.
Alpha
Bioverfahrenstechnik GmbH ist ein spezialisiertes
Dienstleistungsunternehmen, das bereits seit 1996 im Kundenauftrag
Proteine und Antikörper herstellt. In der 2001 im Europarc Dreilinden
neu erbauten Produktionsanlage werden Projekte nach den regeln der Guten
Herstellungspraxis (GMP) für die biopharmazeutische Industrie durchgeführt,
angefangen bei der Herstellung von Zellbanken über die
Prozess-entwicklung bis zur Herstellung der biologischen Wirkstoffe.
Mit
der erteilten Herstellungserlaubnis gehört Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik
zu den wenigen Auftragsherstellern in Europa, die mit tierischen Zellen
unter GMP biopharmazeutische Wirkstoffe für klinische Versuche am
Menschen produzieren dürfen. Weltweit gibt es einen Entwicklungsstau für
neue biologische Wirkstoffe, der durch einen Mangel an geeigneten
Produktionsstätten verursacht wird. Deshalb werden die von Alpha
Bioverfahrenstechnik bereit gestellten freien Kapazitäten von der
biopharmazeutischen Industrie dringend benötigt.
Ziel
des Unternehmens ist die Versorgung von Kunden aus Europa und
Nordamerika.
