Destruction of public and governmental experiments of GMO in Europe

A new article  about GM crop vandalism - from Marcel Kuntz - has appeared:

The purpose of this article is to compile the destruction of GMO trials from academic or governmental research institutes in Europe. About 80 acts are identified, mainly in 4 countries; namely France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Examples are also provided for Italy and Belgium.

The general conclusions that can be drawn from these destructions are:

The vast majority of destroyed academic or governmental experiments were designed to assess the safety of GMOs.

Destructions were not limited to field experiments (some confined experiments were also destroyed).

Destruction could not be prevented by dialog initiated by scientists.

In a few cases, the destruction was accompanied by other damage to property, threats or violence against individuals.

Field trial of GMOs is now virtually impossible in many European countries.

The EU, national governments and local authorities contribute morally and financially to a major impediment to research on green biotechnology.
